| Hmm, given the fact that most fighters at the time were either MK clones or Street Fighter II clones, it was nice to see Naughty Dog try something a little different with a fighter. Not saying that Way Of The Warrior was the best fighter ever made, but understand this, it was a bit better than the typical group released at the time. The soundtrack was awesome, some of the character designs were slick and I love the arenas you are fighting in. The thing that makes me mad though is the lack of frames in the characters making the controls annoying. Still, you can get passed it and the game can be very fun in VS mode. Anyone else like this game at all? Favorite characters? |

Always wanted to like this game, never accomplished that mission.
The aforementioned lack of animation and busted controls always made it a chore to play. I remember finally getting some of Shaky Jakes moves to work and then turning off the game. I felt that was as good an accomplishment as I'd ever get with it. |

The only reason I got the game was through a guide that had advertising such as "special moves and magic moves that completly change the match!" and "secrets that will take years to discover!" or some malarkey like that.
Plus this little gem right here:
More than 9 playable digitized characters. (If you are good) Each
digitized from full-motion video and smoothly rendered from
approximately 250 frames of animation each and anti-aliased through
Naughty Dog's own proprietary technology. More than two unique CPU
opponents. (If you are good) At least two are 3D non-human creatures
rendered of SGI boxes. In fact, David Liu suggests that if you are
really good, finding more than... say 14 or 15 characters that you can
PLAY should be possible.
Let me go through this sentence.
More than 9 characters: True.
More than 2 unique CPU opponents: Three of those are palette-swaps.
14 to 15 characters you can play: Taking into factor the above fact, bulls***.
Caveat emptor: The guide was written in 1995.
But, as cheesy, stupid, and overall WRONG it is, I still love it. That should say something about me. |

I don't care for it. As far as I'm concerned, it's an MK knockoff, and a bad one at that. _________________ Torched Threads |
