Isn't it a shame that alot of franchises got ported to every system under the sun yet some didn't?

Kinda like how MK3 was in the works and they cancelled it in favor of a UMK3 M2 port which also got canned  Evil or Very Mad

had to go with SNK by default.  Not much of a fighting game fan, Rayman was delivered well on three other systems, so it's not like I missed out on that one.
The SNK stuff though would have been cool.  Too bad that we aren't getting ports of them until just now on PS2.

I have to go with the Street Fighter series as MK II was my favorite of the Mortal Kombat games and I really wasn't into the games after that. To be honest though, I would have really liked something like say, Metal Slug on the 3DO because no other US system had it until the Playstation released Metal Slug X. A game like that would have gotten the 3DO some notice. I really would hate to see what the load times would look like on it though.

Yeah when you looked at the load times for NeoGeo CD games :shudders:

The SNK games would have been nice in that they brought some arcade experiences to 3DO.  The multiplayer did not have too many arcade ports, and at that time arcades were still popular.

FYI, I am picking up the snk/neo geo compilation (forgot the exact name) for my psp.  Some awesome classics in the palm of my hand!  Very Happy

I picked that up recently, it's a nice collection though the load times leave a little to be desired, also the PSP's D-Pad doesn't do the fighting games justice.

Yeah, I kinda figured the psp's d-pad would make some of the brawlers tough.  Price to pay for portability I guess.  Atleast it is better than the DS d-pad.

I decided that this thread deserved a sticky as it is quite an interesting topic! I don't remember the SNK/Neo Geo option being there when I voted though. Was this changed or edited? Either that or I have changed some as I think Neo Geo games would have really shined on the 3DO. Stuff like Ninja Combat, King Of The Monsters, and Magician Lord would have been really nice.
