Am I reading this wrong but at the end of this episode, where Dan was
pageing through his notes, that we should believe that Dan was not
entirely telling the truth.

There was overlaping sinister music when the page came up with
Desmond being his constant.Did I miss something ?

I just rewatched the scene in question.  I took it more as Daniel being shocked at finding something "new" in his notebook--like he was saying "Holy cow, not only does all this time travel work!"  Furthermore, it's proof (to Dan) that he needs Desmond to stay alive.

Also, at the risk of going the "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar" route, I think some of the sinister nature of the music was because it was the end of the episode, and a bit of a shock was needed!

Yeah, at great as the music is, it does tend to be a bit OTT at times, being loud or sinister when it isn't really warranted.

Yeah they had that extremely sinister music at the end of Eggtown when Kate hugs Aaron - as if she was planning to hurt him or something.

What I'm curious about is whether Daniel's situation is similar to Desmond's. We know he's been having memory trouble and when daniel tries to help desmond the doctor says something like "Daniel couldn't even help himself" so it could be that Daniel needs the constant to end his problems. This is why he's happy at finding the message.

Alternatively his memory loss is a different condition and desmond being his constant will only be relevant later.

"If anything goes wrong, Desmond Hume will be my constant.
-Daniel's journal-

Stephen Hawking said we all time travel 1sec per sec now if Daniel was doing experiments in time travel he could have made faster for him and thats why he was crying see Fight 815 he knew something bad was going to happen like the way Desmond get the flash i think Daniel is also time traveler and now Daniel being on the island it could be speeding up his time thing even worst that y he might need a constant because his with Desmond now if anything were to go in to the past he could try to find Desmond and that would be someone in both time
