it's about time the writers stop using the guns as any sort of plot device.
I'll bet 9 out of 10 episodes involves some sort of gun-totting or gun-play or "why can't kate have a gun" - and now we've seen people like Mikhail & Locke Get shot... apparently getting shot doesn't = dead...
now would be a great time for Eko's bamboo tank escapades
I've had enough of guns, also, but I just took the recent emphasis on guns to be a way of showing us how violent the outsiders (freighter folk) are. It makes me think back to the scene where they are practicing shooting off the edge of the freighter, and Michael questions them about it being a rescue. We seem to be encouraged to associate violence and thrill-seeking with these newcomers, while our 815 survivors and those on the island go for other methods (knives, net-traps, running people over with cars, pounding their heads into rocks, etc.) of killing or capturing.
Shot certainly doesn't equal dead, neither on the island nor in the real world. I don't really mind the gun-fest of late, so long as it eventually gets back to the intellectual battles that are so much more interesting than "mine's bigger, holds more rounds, shoots farther than yours." I can get that on lots of other shows. _________________ Go Bolts!
