Obviously not dead.
They would never kill her off and not give her a proper goodbye shot, or thought....
she'll probably meet the sawyer/claire group as the return to the beach.... |

I origanlly thought she was dead but with them killing Alex i think Danielle will still be alive and when she finds out Alex is dead she will start working for Ben to kill the frieghties _________________ The others are Cylons |

not dead, they wouldve showed her dead body and given a confirmation of her death, like check for a pulse or something if she were dead. _________________ 108 |

I'll be a slightly weak writing point if Carl is dead-dead and Danielle is dead-not (to paraphrase Mr. Borat). Whatever the healing properties of the island, Carl has presumably been there about as long as Danielle (16 years or so), if you figure that Carl was roughly Alex's age. How does he get a shot to the chest and dies, and Danielle gets a shot to the chest and lives?
That said, I guess the same logic we all are using about Danielle being alive could still apply to Carl. Not that I particularly care if he comes back. _________________ "So we saved the world together for a while, and that was lovely." --Desmond |

Some people die-die other people die-not.
Ms. Klugh, Ana-Lucia, Libby etc vs Mikhail (and hung Charlie in S1)
Seems the island heals those it still needs. If the island is anything like the LOST viewers it needs Danielle and Karl can take a hike.
Personally I didn't mind Karl. _________________ Mark B.

I actually think all 3 (Karl, Danielle, & Alex) are "dead-dead"!!
All that's left in their stories is an on-Island flashback where you see Danielle first reach the Island, her crew's sickness, and Ben's adoption/abduction of Alex ... This can easily be shown in a Ben flashback in some future ep, probably as he is hunting down Penny. _________________ "Destiny is a fickle bitch!" - Benjamin Linus |

Good point ebonX, I agree. Though I would have liked to have seen it as a true Danielle falshback as I'm sure a percentage of people will look at a Ben falshback as his version of the truth which may not be the truth truth. _________________ Mark B.

Count me amongst those who think that all there are dead and will be seen again in flashbacks throughout the next two seasons. _________________ Jackie |

I will be totally pissed if Danielle is dead.
On the other hand, with a limited number of episodes left, maybe
there just isn't time for her story. |

Great episode!
I "ditto" many of the remarks above, but the most startleing thing for me was the cold blooded killing of Alex. Whoa...dark.
They are all dead (alive-not).
Rousseau's pertinent story could be revealed through a Ben Flashback. I'm sure he personally spied on the young Rousseau (pervert) in plotting to steal the baby. _________________ "Sensitivity?….WHO CARES"- jg |

I agree with this completely. There is so much duplicity in Ben, it's hard to know if his flashes in either direction are reliable.
This brings up an interesting and somewhat trippy point: Can the characters manipulate the flashes? It's not that hard to imagine, really. People "edit" their own memories of events, enhancing and deleting portions that are pleasant or painful, filling in blanks to make the memory complete rather than allow gaps in their memory to remain.
Do the flashes show us things as they actually happened, or do they show us things as the characters recall them or wish they happened? _________________ Go Bolts! |

I think D&C have said that the flashes are what actually happened not some false/altered memory.
Anyone else heard that or do I have a false memory ? _________________ Mark B.
