I often wondered in the earlier season if the show was really built completely around Aaron & we just didn't know it yet.  it would be interesting to see some comments from season 1 & 2 and find out if that was a common theme or not.

I'm thinking that Jacob really ends up being Aaron as a grown up.  that's my bold prediction.  he turns into some god-like being some how (no doubt gamma rays as a teenager) and is trapped.  he brings everyone to the island to "help me"  and even using psychics in australia, Jack & Claire's dad, Charlie talking to hurley all as an effort to change something that went wrong in the time line.

other thoughts from the episode:

Kate has a great ass

jack's appendix issue was a complete waste of time.

Juliet is now a complete waste of time and should end up next to the Danielle & Karl.

if only they would have given us more of Christian Shepherd in this episode... he's basically doing the same thing he's been doing so far.  just showing up, not saying anything and disappearing.  and this time Claire followed him.

Myles is apparently NOT a scam artist.... but one bummer of a superpower, I'd say.

It doesn't seem to be stressed too much except for maybe this episode, but Aaron is the only kid born on the island for who knows how long if ever.  That could make him able to be much more than anyone.

It seems like Locke in the long run is much more important though.

I would guess achild concieved on the island would be more important the one born there. Ji Yeon is surely as important.

I know there are those arguing that it wasn't a waste of time, but I basically agree with you.  Now, granted, there IS the question over how he can get sick when Rose's terminal cancer has disapeared.  (Perhaps the island's power doesn't work on vestigal organs?  Good thing we have Bernard there to help remove wisdom teeth!)  That said, what the appendix bit lacked was DRAMA!  We know he won't die (or otherwise be effected) by the appendix surgery, so it basically was a bunch of hooting and hollering for nothing.

Frankly, I'm mad at Jack's appendix!  The Sayid/Desmond/Michael/Freighter storyline is GREAT--so is Hurley/Ben/Locke/The Cabin.  Heck, so is the Sawyer-is-gun-toating-daddy storyline!!  And Jack's appedix took away from it all.

As for Miles' superpower... lol, I do agree!  It's like "next season on Heroes, Miles Strom can... um... hear the echoes of dead people."
