I was re-watching Season Two and came across a reference to Book of Law in the "What Kate Did" episode.
Ekko tells the story of Joshia who was King of Judha. The temple was in ruin. So the people worshiped idols and the kingdom was in disarray. He sent his secretary to the treasury and he said to give the gold to the workers to build a temple. Instead of coming back with the gold he came back with the Book of Law (old testament). It was with that ancient book that Joshia rebuilt the temple.
This is when he shows Locke the bible they found on the other half of the island, which had the splice of film from the orientation video.
Great catch! I like that reference a lot more than the link to Aleister Crowley's Book of the Law, which is what people were initially saying.
The Old Testament reference also makes much more sense, especially since J Wood states (in his LOST blog) that Crowley's Book of Law was written around the turn of the century (1904) & is, in actuality, only about 20-some pages. _________________ "Destiny is a fickle bitch!" - Benjamin Linus
