Some friends of mine have been suggesting that Abaddon is Walt. I'm not 100% sure what their justification is, but on a second viewing, I could see their point. The way he interacts with Locke in the flash forward is very interesting. He calls him Mr. Locke, suggests the walkabout, and then mentions that Locke will owe him one when they meet again. Reminds me of Locke's instant connection with Walt and the fact that Locke did Walt/Michael a favor by finding Vincent early in Season One.
It also fits with what the writers have said from the beginning about having a plan for the fact that Walt would appear to grow freakishly quickly.
Walt grows up, then goes back in time to hang out with the Losties. It would be interesting, but you think he would reveal himself to Hurley in the asylum if that is the case, but unecessary secrets are the fun of the show!
