Fox launched previews for JJ's new series Fringe, which debuts in the fall.  Hey, if nothing else, it'll give us something to talk about until Lost returns!

Check out the preview.  I'm a bit concerned that it involves an incident on a PLANE and the guy who plays ABBADON IS INVOLVED... and they get in touch with Josh whats-his-name from Dawson's Creek who hardly knows HIS FATHER WHO IS A DOCTOR.

Basically it looks like X Files meets off-island Lost with a sprinkle of Heroes.  Perhaps I'm being unfair, but can't JJ just wrap up one project before moving on?

The preview sure is exciting...the actor playing the Dad played Boromir and Faramir's father, Denethor, Steward of Gondor in the Return of the King.

Ah, thought he looked familiar!  I recall him being kind of grumpy on the ROTK DVD....

Funny that you mention JJ "recycling" storylines, because have you noticed that the "O6" storyline (and the way it is being revealed/presented to the audience) is eerily similar of another JJ TV show, "The Nine" (the one about the hostages of a bank robbery, where the show flashbacks to the actual bank robbery/hostage event, while the "present" is the aftermath of this event in 9 people's lives) ...

The Nine had potential, but following Lost is never a good time slot for me. I remember being so drained after watching Lost that I couldn't get emotionally invested in the characters or story.

And yes, it's very similar to the 06...they survived a hostage crisis yet show only signs of guilt, confusion and anger. And we all go, "WHY?"
