If you'd like to be a moderator let me know

The more the better, experience a plus I guess but not necessary.

Not much to it far as I can tell, but then again I've never done it before now either.

I was on late last night for several hours and simply checked for any more of the reported abuses from yesterday every now and then. It's simple and will help keep the boards cleaner or better organized.

Is there a moderator rule book ?

What is acceptable and what is not ?

Bad language seems OK (as per Matt Jones thread) but all other dumb-arse stuff just gets deleted ?

to me, anyone who is obviously more interested in attacking, antagonizing or insulting others; generally obscene or vulgar posts; and any other irrelevent comments as deemed by the site admin (jackeduplockedown) is subject to action by the mods.

case in point, the idiot posting about Sayid's package. not only was it vulgar, it was clearly intended to ridicule legitimate discussion about Lost.

again, in the words of Matt Jones, general 'douchebaggery' will not be tolerated.

I can't think of any other way to approach it or get more specific...

The guidelines are; use common sense.  That's it.

No need to delete any post that adds to the conversation. If there is excessive foul language then edit the words, but that is very unlikely to be necessary.

I'd be interested in being a moderator, scouring the site, making sure the numbers are entered on time and all that!
