I three big problems with my new motor/car

1. I think the oil pressure is way to high. 35-40psi at idle and well over 100psi under boost.

2. clutch is weird and gave out on me three times yesterday even after Mario and I worked on it Sat. evening.

3. seals leaking like crazy!

ANS. 1. I may pull off my filter housing and port my bypass some more to lower the oil pressure. it opens at 100 psi so it will help at the top end.

2. replacing the master and slave cyclinders. Fu@# it I got so much into it what another $150

3. Hope fully Answer #1 helps but mario and I need to see what the problem is.

TNT................BOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!    Problem solved.   How about the talon is pushing coolant and the rod bearing after the oil incident is a little worse than I thought.  I may have to change the HG.  Or I might be able to get away with retorqueing the head to 90lbs or more.  I'm hearing that when reusing the ARP's that you gotta torque them down a little more each time to get the HG to seal..    (who knows)  Can't hurt I guess...   As far as the rod bearings.   I'm going to have to replace them.  It's not like the 99 block I had in there but when I accerlerate I can hear them pretty good between 3500 - 4500 rpm.    Don't think I gonna drive it until that gets fixed.   Not trying to fuck up the motor by driving.   Or I can say fuck it and sell the car as is for $4000.00 and let someone else buy a $100.00 HG, and $65.00 rod bearing.  And let them do the work themselves.

That will probably end up with them trying to get you to change it, and paying you to do it anyway. Lets face it.

well most of the problems are fixed minus the clutch issue.   It's still tight the last 1 1/2 to 2 inch before it touches the floor.   We're thinking now that maybe the clutch fork is slightly bent, or the fulcrum ball on the tranny needs to be shimmed, or the pressure plate it self is fucked.   The slave clyinder and master cylinder have been replaced so that's no longer an issue.   So last thing to do is to pull the tranny and change the clutch fork, shim the fulcrum ball, and maybe get another pressure plate.   Then once that is done, David will be able to enjoy driving the car.  It's a set-back but atleast the car is drivable and there seem to be no other problems.

Mario is the clutch fork SB sells the revised one? MachV and a few others advertise their replacement as the OEM revised fork that is slightly less prone to bending and breakage...Can you call Chris and find out for me? Or I can call him after school..whatever.

If you think about it, it makes sense that it's the bent/worn fork. It probally moves on the ball untill it bottoms out on the bell housing. This would happen between the fulcrum ball and the slave cyclinder cutting the leverage in half. because of the now increased force needed to push it, it feels super stiff. so it's using the middle of the fork to lift the Throwout bearing the rest of the way using the shaft of the fork as the pivioting section...

I believe it is.  This is the same one i put on my car.   I would also get the fulcrum ball to be safe.   When we pull the tranny I would like to get the pressure plate checked out by huml, to make absolutley sure that it's not the clutch as well causing the problems.   If you think you and I can put in rod bearings tomm.   Then we can do your tranny on saturday.   With the two of us we should have it out in 2 hours or less.   I can do one by myself in 2 1/2 hours.   So figure 6 hours total from pulling it in to driving it back out. Or we can do it sometime during the week.   Start it one day then finish the next day.  This way it's broken up.  Or after the talon you can drop it off, and we'll work from there.   Any oil leaking?  Any other issues?.
