|

Well I doubt I'll be getting my TT any time in the real near future soooo, should I continue to mod the SAAB? If so 3" DP and FMIC are in the near future maybe even an ECU tune, then I can sit at about 300WHP. The mileage is getting up there, so I may as well just keep her I figure, and while I'm at it give her a lil more snaab. I will prolly rebuild my top-end before any of this but, what do you guys think? _________________ Speedin from Sweden |

Why not go stage 5? the only difference is the tune and the clutch (that you already have) 320 hp.... that would be sweet.... although the vig Snail would probally be the easyist method....Use your lax paycheck........ _________________ -Dave..."fast, reliable, or cheap...pick two" |

BTW clipping turbos kills their efficiency... That's why you don't see it done much anymore...Now a day's there is a Snail out there for every need. _________________ -Dave..."fast, reliable, or cheap...pick two" |

i dunno everyone calls them that, disco potato = gt2860 rs, they are a Snail thats torque curve and hp curve are almost perfectly matched to 2.0 motors good for 3-350 hp but if i go stage 5 i might have to get a bigger Snail then my car will prolly suck in auto-x. so i might stay around stage 4 _________________ Speedin from Sweden |

You will neverfind a Viggen Snail, Viggen parts r Uber rare and very pricey, you will pay just as much for a vig Snail as a disco potato, and a disco's gonna spool way fast due to being ball bearing, lower boost pressure also to get the hp and torque numbers you want, this by the way will also be easier on the engine. lower boost equals lest strain. _________________ Wookiee SAYS "Its a Tree you dumb son of a Bitch!" |

The disco potato or gt2860rs was built by a garrett tech for his own personal 91 Nissan SE-r, he was a autocrosser with the same probalam we all have front wheel drive and no traction, so he built his own custom Snail from parts thus creating the gt2860rs, Garrett then saw it was a very effiencent and very fast spooling Snail right around 2k in a 2.0 motor, also creating very equal hp and torque numbers. not quit sure who gave it the label as the disco (either garrett or the tech guy ) but he sure built a bitchn' Snail.
It was developed by Garrett in the US for a project car called the Disco Potato with an SR20 powerplant. The car's power was impressive, 280 hp at the wheels, but not earth-shattering. The driving experience however, was. Throttle response was excellent, Snail lag virtually non-existent, and the tyre-smoking horsepower was outstanding. The Snail spooled up early, making so much torque, that the best quarter-mile time (13.7 at 104.5 mph) was achieved launching in second gear. The vehicle was so successful that Garrett the Snail as the GT28RS.
in red is a clip from the garrett web _________________ Wookiee SAYS "Its a Tree you dumb son of a Bitch!" |

disco potato + FWD = no traction
30R + FWD = highway fun and traction _________________ -Dave..."fast, reliable, or cheap...pick two" |
