I have a new band (well, at least 3 of 5 members are new), and we've been rehearsing our butts off.
Swear to God I didn't realize how numb my fingers were for lack of practice, but I'm slowly getting back into shape and things are looking really good.
We'll be ready to kick ass for the first time with this version of the band on September the 1st on a private party.
Next gig: Independence Day (Sept. 15), in front of 5K, at the least.
I'm getting my vox and my guitar-playing back into shape after not singing much for a few months and at least a month of not playing my guitar, because I'm teetering on the brink of buying that new Mac, and once I do I'm going to be doing some major recording. I'm even considering taking a few weeks off of work so I can record all day and all night. _________________

Dude, this is when I wish I was nearby, so we can get together and jam to some of your recordings.
Still, if you need some lead spread a la Santana/Scholz/Frehley/Schon, lemme know. _________________

I just might take you up on that... I've figured out that if I send out a mono copy of the backing track on, say, the L channel, then I can have guitarists with recording capabilities do solos on the R channel and then send it back. I can then sync up the backing track and copy the solos onto free tracks on my Mac.
I'm definitely going to need some solos, at least 3 songs are in need of a guitar solo, and 1 needs not only a good electric solo during an acoustic break but some Hendrix-y jamming all on the chord of C [add D], for an interlude in the middle (think "1983" from Electric Ladyland) and leads for the end/extended fade-out.... and frankly, I suck at leads and solos. I can come up with key notes and a few phrases, and I've actually done some dual electric solos not unlike the leads in "More Than a Feeling" on songs in the past, but I'm not skilled enough on the fretboard to solo convincingly on a regular basis. One of my songs REALLY needs a good solo in the middle, and although I came up with some basic stuff, it really needs a REAL guitarist.
But yeah, I wish you, I, Phunky, and guitaranimal69 could get together and jam.

Well, I don't have a Mac, but the mono track thingy sounds logical enough for me.
You can always send the mp3 and I'll jam to it 'til I like what I'm doing and I'll send it back. You can copy and paste it on your mix.
This is a rehearsal from last week. We were just noodling around with this song ("Todo cambió" by Camila - a huge hit here in Mexico). I swear it sounds a million times better now. We managed to nail the choruses and even top them, but I'll guess we'll have to wait 'til I record again to upload some other stuff.

I really enjoyed that... I dont understand a fucken word
But I just loved it anyway... Now I aint no musician so
I dont know if there were ANY mistakes in the playing or not...
But to my ears that was MORE than perfect. The guitar playing
was the kind ya just wanna close your eyes and get lost in.
Thats the only way I can explain it...
Kinda reminded me of Los Lonely Boys...
(uh hope thats not insulting to you )
I could listen to bands singing in Spanish all fricken day.
Oh yeah I have the song on repeat on Itunes and I think
this is time number uh 6 its replayed....
