As some of you may have noticed the site has been down for a couple of days. This was due to a corrupted MySql data base server from the host. A new server was put in its place and all the data transfered to the new system. I was told that you might notice some lag/delay in page loading until all the bugs are worked out.
We were promised that this was the best way to go to keep this from happening again. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. All is good now so post away....
Message from host...
I'll keep this fairly short and sweet.
We didn't have any issues while doing the hardware replacement but moving the files took a lot longer than expected.
THANK YOU! to everyone who showed their support during the extended downtime.
As the update said, there was no way for us to expedite the file transfer and it was simply a matter of waiting for nearly 10,000,000 files to be moved.
We couldn't provide an accurate time for completion due to variable transfer speeds (with that many files every kb/sec change can really skew your calculations) so we did what we could.
The transfer is now complete and we can finally sleep and you can go back to enjoying your ever safe forums.
We hope you enjoy the new hardware which offers RAID10 protection meaning even if a hard drive fails thing continue to run like normal, general speeds are increased using RAID10 as well.
Precautionary measures like this are what makes FreePowerBoards so reliable. Luckily, we don't have to do large changes like this often, as most of our efforts are done behind the scenes. We look forward to hosting you for years to come and we take pride in the secure service we offer.
Thanks again for your patience and have a wonderful day!
